Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC):

Polyvinyl Chloride or PVC is one the oldest and most commonly used plastic polymers today for various piping and bottling applications. It has excellent chemical resistance to acids, bases, and solvents and is a relatively low-cost material. Because of these qualities, it is commonly used in food and beverage industry for transporting water, dairy, or other liquids. It is also used in a variety of chemical processes including usage for sewage pipes. However, it does not have good resistance to hydraulic oil or petroleum-based products such as gasoline and diesel. For those applications, Polypropylene (PP) or Polyamide (PVDF) thermoplastics are more suitable.
