elobau history
1972 -  elobau Elektrobauelemente GmbH & Co. KG is established and develops the first magnetic switch on a dry reed contact basis for hay distribution equipment.
1977 – elobau increases production by building its own tools with plastic molding machines and within the same year introduces the world’s first proximity safety switch
1980 – a plunger switch with dry reed contact technology originally developed for gear boxes gives life to a new product segment: vehicle components
1989 – The existing product line was increased by the addition of the Intrinsically Safe (explosion proof) (Ex) switches
1990 – elobau’ s first FNR played a significant breakthrough part in its increasing presence  within the Vehicle industry, thus enabling elobau to extend its share of the market while being a landmark in the development of the joystick program.
1995 – The addition of Hygienic Sensors to the Machine safety line provided a higher quality standard product for the Food Industry
1996 - The first non-contacting joystick and new suction pipe is introduced and elobau once more proves the reliability of the reed technology
1998 – In order to keep up with the industry demand, elobau increases its Machine safety sensor portfolio by adding the 2-N/O contact system.
2002 - Machine safety innovation: the first safety bus system of the new product line, elosafe, improves the conventional safety technology.
2004 – The first mercury-free tilt switch is now on the market
2005 – The launching of the Machine safety “design” sensor introduced a change from pure functionality to aesthetics design
2006 – N4, a new tilt switch combines high technical standard with a new sleek design
2008 - elobau adds a second production plant and new office facilities bringing more capacity to Leutkirch
2014 – elobau redefines safety products, introducing eloProtect m and eloProtect e, magnetic and RFID safety sensors with a new dimension of proven reliability and performance.

1992 – 2003                Fritz Hetzer manages the company along with son Michael Hetzer
